Kia ora, my name is Jun Wei Chong. I am a medical student at the University of Otago, Wellington Campus, currently undertaking an Honours year between my 5th and 6th year of medical school. This year I have the privillege of working with the Surgical Immunological Resarch Group on a project examining myocardial injury in non-cardiac surgery with a particular focus on vascular surgery patients. This opportunity has allowed me to strenghten my skills in clinical research and data analysis while reinforcing my interest in medical research.
