Oliver Ma is a fifth-year medical student at James Cook University, currently based at the Cairns Clinical School. He was a NQRTH Summer Research Bursary Recipient in 2023, with research focussing on molecular pharmacological targets for ischaemic stroke in brain tissue, as well as in the application of generative artificial intelligence in medical education. He was awarded the John Flynn College Bursary for highest GPA in college (7.0) across MBBS1&2. He has a strong interest in surgery moving forwards and sat on the committee for the 2025 Australasian Students’ Surgical Conference in Sydney. He graduated Sydney Grammar School in 2020 and is an avid piano player.
