Shiva Akbarzadeh is the head of Skin Bioengineering Laboratory at the state wide Burns Specialist unit, Alfred care Group (Bayside Health), Melbourne, Australia and honorary A/Prof at Monash University. She is the recipient of a number of national and international awards in skin tissue engineering and has developed a novel engineered skin that is currently being trialled to treat massive burns in a phase Ib clinical trial.
