Dr. Lopeti Lafo'ou-Lusa is a current PGY3 senior house officer working at Middlemore Hospital. She has various areas of interest in medicine, including general surgery, interventional radiology and forensic pathology. This is Lopeti's first time attending a RACS scientific congress, and she looks forward to the inspiration and innovation that the congress has to offer. The research that Lopeti has been a part of, has been led by Dr. Claudia Paterson (PhD candidate). This retrospective cohort study has focused on whether mechanical bowel preparation and oral antibiotics before elective colorectal resection reduces total postoperative infection rates in Aotearoa New Zealand.
