Mina Refaat
Professional Bio
I work as a General Surgery Registrar at Lyell McEwin Hospital, Northern Adelaide Local Health Network. I graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBCh) from Cairo University, Egypt, in 2014. I relocated to Australia in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, which inspired my research into the impact of COVID-19 on the early diagnosis of colorectal cancer. I worked as an Emergency Department SRMO at Central Coast Health Network, NSW, and subsequently as a Surgical RMO at Flinders Medical Centre, completing hepatobiliary, oesophagogastric, and colorectal rotations. Since 2024, I have been working as a General Surgery Registrar, including one year delivering surgical care in a rural setting at Port Pirie Hospital.
