Samuel Pau is a general surgeon at Waikato Hospital and also a Master of Health Sciences candidate at the University of Auckland, where his research explores the application of artificial intelligence and radiomics in predicting completeness of cytoreduction for colorectal peritoneal metastases. Originally trained as a pharmacist, he brings a multidisciplinary perspective to surgical innovation and evidence-based practice. His future focus is in colorectal and peritoneal malignancy surgery, with a keen interest in endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery. Outside of medicine, he is devoted to his wife and three boys, enjoying family adventures and time outdoors whenever possible.
